Dakini With Wolves – Barbara Berry
$4,500.00
Original Painting – Oil On Wood
A dakini accompanied by two wolves in a charnel ground with an adept dismembering a corpse and offering pieces to the birds.
“The charnel ground is, in Tibetan tantric mandalas, the location and medium of sacredness. Symbolically, it is the landscape or the psychological environment in which one can commit to things as they are. The classical iconographic mandala is visualized as a transformed charnel ground, with the corpses and bones of everything that has perished. The mandala is ringed by charnel grounds, and the deities of the mandala and its deities, especially the dakini.”
