The Mandala of the Medicine Buddha – In the first table of the “Atlas of Tibetan Medicine”, Menla has three levels: external, internal and absolute. The external level indicates devotion to the Medicine Buddha, offering mandalas and the practice of medicine. The inner level indicates tantric practice of identifying oneself with the Medicine Buddha and one’s world with the energies of a pure medicine land. The absolute level indicates the ultimate realization of oneself as the Medicine Buddha, who continuously manifests healing power. Practicing through such serves to realize the Trikaya, the Buddha nature of body, speech and mind – action, radiance and emptiness.
