White Tara, also known as Jetsun Dolma is a female Bodhisattva. White Tara comes from Padma (Lotus) family and she was born from the tear of Avalokiteshvara’s left eye. She is compassionate towards all living beings and has a heartfelt desire to prevent their further suffering that has been described as even stronger than a mother’s love for her children. One calls on her for health, strength, and longevity. She symbolizes perfect purity, and is believed to represent Transcendent Wisdom, which secures everlasting bliss to its possessor or worshiper.
